(NewsNation) — Food Network star Kardea Brown is hitting back at viewers for “nasty comments” they have made toward her after she replaced Valerie Bertinelli on one of the network’s shows.

Earlier this year, Brown replaced Bertinelli as co-host of “Kids Baking Championship.”

On Dec. 4, Brown shared a promo for “Baking Champions: Next Gen” on Facebook, calling it a “sweet new series” that will have teams of siblings competing.

Food Network fans left numerous negative comments on her post, she said in a Dec. 5 Facebook post.

“Cousins, I need to get something off my chest…….,” she wrote.

“The amount of adults leaving negative comments on my last post is alarming,” Brown continued.

Adding, “I hear you……you’re tired of competition shows, and you want Valerie back. But guess what?! I can’t control any of that, so leaving nasty comments on my page won’t change a single thing.”

Food Network announced in October 2024 that Brown, who hosted “Delicious Miss Brown,” would replace Bertinelli on the show, which Bertinelli had hosted since 2015.
