(NewsNation) — The Miss Universe Organization has provided an update on Miss Jamaica Dr. Gabrielle Alexis Henry after she fell off the Miss Universe stage last month in Thailand.
In a press release, posted on behalf of the company and the Henry family, the MUO detailed her injuries.
“Dr. Henry suffered a serious fall through an opening on the stage while performing her walk during the preliminary competition on November 19, 2025, resulting in an intracranial hemorrhage with loss of consciousness, a fracture, facial lacerations and other significant injuries,” according to the statement.
The organization said Henry was admitted to the intensive care unit in Bangkok, where she was in critical condition and “under constant neurological monitoring.”

According to MUO, Henry is under 24-hour specialist supervision and will go back to Jamaica “in the coming days.”
Henry will be “accompanied by a full medical escort team and will be transferred directly to (the) hospital for continued treatment and recovery,” the organization said.
Miss Jamaica rushed to the hospital
A video of Henry falling during the evening gown section circulated online.
She can be seen standing in front of the audience, modeling an evening gown, before appearing to walk away and fall off the stage. Additional footage shared to social media appears to show Henry being removed on a stretcher.
After the incident, Henry was taken to a hospital in Rangsit, just north of Bangkok, according to a statement from officials with the Miss Universe Jamaica Organization.
Henry, a junior resident at the University Hospital of the West Indies, had expressed excitement for the final rounds on Instagram just before the incident.
“It is crazy to imagine that just a few weeks ago I was preparing for the Miss Universe stage, and now I’m here!” She wrote in an Instagram post at the time. “All the emotions, the rush of excitement, the joy, reside right here with me as I prepare to represent my beloved country.”
