(NewsNation) — It looks like Miley Cyrus wants to join Shane and Ilya at the cottage, saying she’s “so in” to record music for the second season of the much-buzzed-about “Heated Rivalry.”
Cyrus was at the Palm Springs International Film Festival gala on Saturday, telling Variety that she wants to record music for “Heated Rivalry” despite not having seen the show.
“It’s all I heard about of how much I am going to be obsessed,” she told journalist Marc Malkin, who told Cyrus that she should contribute musically to the show for its second season.
“Oh, I’m so in. Book me. Get me booked!” she said.
‘Heated Rivalry’ star: Miley Cyrus may be out of the budget
François Arnaud, who plays hockey player Scott Hunter on the hit Canadian Crave/HBO Max series, told Variety at the “Critics’ Choice Awards” on Sunday that the show may not be able to afford the “Party in the USA” singer.
“I think we might get a little bit bigger budget for Season 2, but I don’t know if we get Miley budget.”
He added, “I think if she sees the show, she might give us a discount.”
‘Heated Rivalry’ blows up online
Premiering in November 2025, “Heated Rivalry” stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie and follows the story of Canadian Shane Hollander and Russian Ilya Rozanov, rival professional hockey players who are in a nearly decade-long secret romance.
The series is an adaptation of Rachel Reid’s 2019 novel of the same name.
The show has trended on social media since its premiere for its LGBTQ+ storytelling and was the No. 1 series on HBO Max leading up to its first-season finale at the end of December.
