(NewsNation) — Ashley Tisdale has had enough of a celebrity-filled mom group over their “toxic” cliquish behavior.

In an essay for The Cut fittingly titled “Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group,” Tisdale said she stepped away from the group after she felt she was often excluded from group activities.

“It took me back to an unpleasant but familiar feeling I thought I’d left behind years ago,” she wrote. “Here I was sitting alone one night after getting my daughter to bed, thinking, Maybe I’m not cool enough? All of a sudden, I was in high school again, feeling totally lost as to what I was doing ‘wrong’ to be left out.”

Tisdale, 40, claimed she saw members of the group hang out on Instagram without her and was once seated at the far end of the table during a dinner party, away from the other women.

“The High School Musical” star said that while she was subjected to this type of treatment in high school, as an adult, she had to “speak up” for herself.

She also mentioned that the group had made plans to hang out together, without Tisdale, at her daughter’s birthday party.

After another get-together without her was planned, Tisdale said she texted the group: “This is too high school for me, and I don’t want to take part in it anymore.”

Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore allegedly in mom group

While Tisdale did not specifically mention any names, celebrities including Hilary Duff, Meghan Trainor and Mandy Moore are in the group, according to TMZ.

She has unfollowed both Moore and Duff, the Daily Mail reported.

Duff has spoken up about the mom group before, telling People Magazine in 2024 that the group would meet “two to three times a week” for activities involving their kids.

“I feel like our big connection to one another, even though we’re pop stars or on TV, is we love our kids,” the “So Yesterday” singer said at the time.

Ashley Tisdale: Other moms feel seen

Tisdale said that she’s received messages from mothers telling her, “I feel seen,” when she previously spoke up about the toxic behavior, and has shared stories with her about similar treatment.

The “He Said She Said” singer also explained that while she could have ghosted the group, she wanted to be an example to her kids about speaking up for themselves when their feelings are hurt.

“But from the feedback I’ve received since I started talking about this, I now know I’m far from the only mother who’s been brought to tears by members of a group that’s supposed to lift everyone up,” she wrote.
