(NewsNation) — An Idaho-based food manufacturer is recalling about 2,855 pounds of ground beef because it may have been contaminated with E. coli.

The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said the beef, which was produced on Dec. 16, was shipped to distributors in California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Pennsylvania, and Washington for further distribution and for sale at stores.

“Forward Farms Grass-Fed Ground Beef” has a use-by or freeze-by date of Jan. 13, 2026. The establishment number “EST 2083” is also printed on the side of the packaging.

FSIS said the concern over E. coli came after routine testing, with sampling results showing the presence of E. coli 026.

No illnesses have been reported as a result of the recall, the FSIS said.

Anyone who may have the product in their refrigerator or freezer should throw it away immediately or return the beef to the store it was bought from.
