(NewsNation) — A Border Patrol agent was seen hugging a protester amid unrest in Minneapolis after a woman was shot and killed by a federal immigration officer last week.
The moment was captured on video Jan. 8 after a lengthy chat outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement processing facility in Minneapolis.
Footage shows the full interaction, including the agent telling the protester, “I love you, I want to hug you” before going in for a hug. “We have a heart, you know what I mean?”
During the interaction, dozens of anti-ICE protesters were gathered near the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building.
Other videos from the scene showed protesters yelling, “Murderers!” at federal agents.
Protests have erupted nationwide after the death of Minneapolis mother Renee Nicole Good, who was shot and killed in her car Jan. 7.
