(NewsNation) — As federal immigration agents arrested one person during an operation in Minnesota, protesters attempted to stop it from happening.

More than a dozen officers were outside of the home in a neighborhood of Minneapolis, and six agents had guns drawn heading into the house to carry out an immigration arrest. The agents later came out with one person they arrested, which was met with a lot of backlash from people outside the home.

Before the agents entered the house, several protesters stood outside, attempting to block their entry. Many played drums, used airhorns and some chanted as they stood in front of the house until agents removed them and continued.

A crying woman who came out of the house following the arrest told NewsNation her husband, who is an immigrant, was the person who was being taken away by ICE agents. She showed a warrant the agents provided when they entered the home. The woman added her husband had no warrants out for his arrest.

One woman who witnessed the arrest described the scene as “chaotic.”

“It’s just scary, it’s terrifying, we have such good people here and I don’t want to lose any neighbors,” the witness told NewsNation. “But we shouldn’t have this, it’s not right. I want ICE to leave. Just get out.”

The woman referenced the death of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old woman who was shot and killed during an interaction with an ICE agent on Wednesday in Minneapolis, adding that her death was not necessary and that ICE agents could end up getting someone else killed.

“Who’s next?” she said.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem also announced that additional agents would be coming to Minnesota amid allegations of fraud and the protests to continue the immigration enforcement operations.
