(NewsNation) — Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, will meet with conservative podcaster Candace Owens on Monday.

“Candace Owens and I are meeting for a private, in-person discussion on Monday, December 15,” Erika Kirk posted Sunday on X.

The meeting comes as Owens has repeatedly pushed conspiracies surrounding Kirk’s assassination in September, even going as far as to call it “an inside job.

Turning Point had previously planned to hold a live stream with Owens to rebut the commentator’s claims one by one, but it fell through, and the private meeting was planned instead.

“@RealCandaceO and I have agreed that public discussions, livestreams, and tweets are on hold until after this meeting. I look forward to a productive conversation,” Erika Kirk wrote.

“I am very much looking forward to this discussion,” Owens posted in response.

What has Owens alleged?

Owens, who was communications director at TPUSA from 2017-2019 and friends with the late founder, has been spreading theories about Kirk’s death since shortly after he was shot and killed on Sept. 10.

She has suggested that TPUSA, American supporters of Israel and the French military were part of a plot to assassinate Kirk, as reported by Axios.

Owens alleges that Kirk was growing tired of the U.S. alliance with Israel and was facing pressure from pro-Israel TPUSA donors in the weeks leading up to his death. The podcaster has become increasingly critical of Israel in recent years, often promoting conspiracy theories that some Jewish groups and conservative figures have deemed antisemitic.

Owens has also questioned the motives of Erika Kirk, who took over as CEO of the conservative student group following her husband’s death.

Owens’ baseless claims have caused a rift between her and some figures within the MAGA movement.

At a recent CBS town hall, when asked what her message is for Owens, Erika Kirk said: “Stop. That’s it. That’s all I have to say. Stop.”

Owens known to push conspiracies

Owens, no stranger to controversy, is currently facing a defamation lawsuit filed by French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron over her public claims that Brigitte Macron is a man.

Filed in Delaware Superior Court in July 2025, the complaint accuses Owens of pushing a “campaign of global humiliation” by repeatedly alleging that Brigitte Macron was born a man.

“These claims are demonstrably false, and Owens knew they were false when she published them. Yet, she published them anyway. And the reason is clear: It is not the pursuit of truth, but the pursuit of fame,” the complaint reads.
