(NewsNation) — Actress Amanda Seyfried is doubling down on comments she made after the assassination of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk.

“I’m not f—ing apologizing for that,” Seyfried, 40, told Who What Wear in an interview published Wednesday. “I mean, for f—’s sake, I commented on one thing. I said something that was based on actual reality and actual footage and actual quotes. What I said was pretty damn factual, and I’m free to have an opinion, of course.

In September, Seyfried faced backlash over an Instagram comment posted shortly after Kirk’s death, writing at the time, “He was hateful.”

Seyfried told Who What Wear that she considered deleting the post but decided to keep it up, despite the social media backlash. Instead, she made another post to clarify her comment.

“We’re forgetting the nuance of humanity,” Seyfried wrote in September. “I can get angry about misogyny and racist rhetoric and ALSO very much agree that Charlie Kirk’s murder was absolutely disturbing and deplorable in every way imaginable. No one should have to experience this level of violence. This country is grieving too many senseless and violent deaths and shootings. Can we agree on that at least?”

Kirk, founder of TurningPoint USA and an influential ally of President Donald Trump, was fatally shot Sept. 10 while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University.
