NewsNation) — Todd Chrisley revealed that he and his wife, Julie Chrisley, want to move back to South Carolina.
Months after the reality TV couple was pardoned by President Donald Trump, they told People Magazine, that while they’re still in Nashville, they would like to relocate.
“When are we going back to South Carolina? I think that’s going to depend on how things fall with production and other projects that we’re working on right now,” Todd Chrisley, 57, told the publication.
The “Chrisley Knows Best” stars are originally from South Carolina but lived in Atlanta for the first three seasons of their show before buying a mansion in Tennessee and filming the rest of the series there.
Chrisleys sentenced for fraud and tax evasion
A federal grand jury in Atlanta indicted the Chrisleys on 12 counts of wire fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud and conspiracy to defraud the United States in 2019.
Prosecutors accused the Chrisleys of evading nearly $2 million in state taxes between 2008 and 2016 and hiding over $1 million from the IRS, according to E! News.
Todd and Julie were sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison in 2022 for conspiring to defraud Atlanta-area banks out of more than $30 million in loans by submitting false documents and tax evasion.
The pair began serving their prison sentences in January 2023, with Todd being sentenced to a federal correctional prison in Pensacola, Florida, and Julie at a federal prison in Lexington, Kentucky.
Todd spoke to NewsNation in December 2023 while serving his sentence, saying that he felt he was being targeted by prison staff and that he and other inmates were living in filthy conditions.
They were pardoned by the president in May.
Julie Chrisley: I love where I live
The reality TV stars moved in with Savannah Chrisley, 27, following their prison release, according to People.
“So, for me, I am absolutely loving where I live,” Julie said. “I can walk to restaurants and coffee shops and a gazillion different gyms. I live a mile from my best friend Tyler. So, we’ll meet up places.”
Todd told “Good Morning America” in June that while the family “will always have a presence in Nashville,” he was trying to get Julie to agree to move back to Charleston, South Carolina.
The Chrisley’s new show following their release from prison, “The Chrisleys: Back to Reality,” premieres, Monday, Sept 1.
