(NewsNation) — Spotify announced Thursday it was “updating the price” for U.S. subscribers.

“Occasional updates to pricing across our markets reflect the value that Spotify delivers, enabling us to continue offering the best possible experience and benefit artists,” the Sweden-based company said while justifying the price update.

Individual and Student subscribers will see $1 increases monthly, while Duo and Family plans are jumping $2.

The price increase will also impact subscribers in Estonia and Latvia.

Spotify last hiked fees for U.S. subscribers in June 2024, which marked the second increase in less than a year.

The streaming service, which boasts more than 713 million users (some of whom have a free, ad-based account), is just the latest subscription-based program to raise rates.
