(NewsNation) — “Game of Thrones” fans may be in for a treat as a spin-off series following fan favorite Arya Stark is in the works.

The project was mentioned by The Hollywood Reporter in a profile on “Game of Thrones” author George R.R. Martin.

The show is reportedly in “very early development” and comes after the canceled sequel that would have centered on Jon Snow.

The potential series is being developed by HBO, with writer Quoc Dang Tra attached. No actors have been cast in the series, including Maisie Williams, who played Arya in the original show.

The now officially canceled Jon Snow show would have been much darker and would have seen Snow, played by Kit Harington, living alone “as a broken man with PTSD.”

HBO reportedly declined to develop the project because of the darker tone, THR reported.

Since ending in 2019, “Game of Thrones” has spawned two spinoff series: prequel “House of the Dragon,” which premieres its third season later this year, and “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” which premieres on Jan. 18.
