(NewsNation) — Is Ariana Grande’s relationship next to go up in flames? Fans seem to think so because of a picture she took with BLACKPINK’s Rosé.
Rosé and Grande attended Sunday’s 2025 MTV VMAs, where they both won for the night, and took a photo posing together, with fans bringing up what they call the “Rosé Curse,” according to Parade.
“Oh, Ethan, count your days…” X user @arianaunext wrote, referring to Grande’s boyfriend, Ethan Slater.
Another person posted, “Bye bye, Ethan, the rose curse will get you……”
What is the Rosé Curse?
Fans humorously speculate that whenever the singer takes a photo alongside a couple in a relationship, they eventually break up, citing her posing with Katy Perry while she was with Orlando Bloom.
Perry and Bloom ended their nine-year relationship earlier this summer.
Users also posted a collage of images of Rosé with other stars over the years, including Sabrina Carpenter, Gigi Hadid, Florence Pugh and Billie Eilish, all of whom’ve gone through public breakups in recent years.
The BLACKPINK singer apparently isn’t a fan of the theory, according to i-D magazine.
“(S)he really doesn’t like that whole narrative so she didn’t have heaps to say about it lol,” a writer for the magazine who interviewed her said.
