(NewsNation) — Prince Harry is one step closer to getting his children to visit their grandfather King Charles.
The U.K. government’s agency in charge of reviewing how the royal family and other important figures are guarded has launched a full-scale review of Harry’s security detail, according to The Sun.
If approved, the Duke of Sussex would be able to bring Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to the U.K.
Harry has maintained that without property security from the government that he wouldn’t be able to bring his children and his wife, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, back to the U.K. for safety reasons.
The family currently lives in California.
“The UK Government’s protective security system is rigorous and proportionate. It is our long-standing policy not to provide detailed information on those arrangements, as doing so could compromise their integrity and affect individuals’ security,” a spokesperson for the U.K. government told People magazine.
A decision will be made in January, The Sun reported.
Prince Harry reunites with King Charles
In September, Prince Harry and King Charles reunited in person after 18 months apart.
Harry was pictured arriving at Charles’ London home, Clarence House.
Before the fall meeting, Harry last saw his father in February 2024, following Charles’ cancer diagnosis, according to NewsNation’s Froelich, and only spent a short amount of time with him.
A source told People last year that King Charles was no longer taking Harry’s calls or responding to his letters.
