(NewsNation) — Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have ended their six-year engagement, according to reports.

NewsNation’s Paula Froelich reported a few weeks ago that, despite rumors, Bloom and Perry were expected to reunite at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding this week in Venice, Italy. Those rumors included “tension” due to the stress of Perry’s “143″ album and her tour reportedly not performing well.

Us Weekly previously reported Perry and Bloom were growing apart, and Page Six said the couple were “on the rocks.” Now it seems as though those rumors were true.

Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom: How the celebrity couple met

Perry, 40, and Bloom, 48, met in 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty.

During an episode of “American Idol,” Perry revealed, “I met my boyfriend over In-N-Out… I had my security guard grab 10 In-N-Out, and all of a sudden I see my boyfriend’s hand — he wasn’t even sitting at our table — he just swoops in, and he grabs it, and I was like, ‘Hey that’s my burger!”’

In May of that year, the couple announced their relationship on Instagram after attending the Cannes Film Festival.

In February 2017, the couple broke up, and Perry opened up about the break during an episode of Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy.”

When they first split, Bloom said, “We’re all grown up. She happens to be someone who is very visible, but I don’t think anybody cares about what I’m up to. Nor should they. It’s between us. It’s better to set an example for kids and show that [breakups] don’t have to be about hate.”

Then, in September 2018, the couple appeared to reunite and walked the red carpet together at the Gala for the Global Ocean at the Opera of Monte-Carlo.

On Valentine’s Day in 2019, Bloom proposed to Perry.

A source told People that Bloom had asked for Perry’s parents’ approval before proposing, and said, “He wanted it all to be special.”

In March 2020, Perry and Bloom announced the singer was pregnant in her music video for “Never Worn White.” They had planned to wed in Japan in 2020, but had to postpone due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In August, Perry and Bloom’s daughter, Daisy Dove, was born. She told People a year later, “My heart is so full, finally.”

Katy Perry’s album was ‘biggest flop yet,’ critics say

Perry has had to deal with a lot this year, including the reception of her latest album, “143,” which Froelich reported was “full of bombs.” Her single, “Woman’s World,” also faced considerable criticism, with some saying it was her “biggest flop yet.”

Her album had debuted at No. 6 on the charts but quickly fell, reportedly selling only 100,000 copies. Perry also faced backlash when she went on the Blue Origin space trip with Lauren Sanchez and Gayle King. After she returned to Earth, she said she felt “super connected to life” and “so connected to love.”

During her flight, she showed a daisy to the camera for her daughter and a set list for her “Lifetimes” tour written on a paper butterfly.
