(NewsNation) — Music star LeAnn Rimes experienced a new kind of stage malfunction this week when her teeth fell out during her concert in Washington.

The 42-year-old singer said on Instagram, “We’re going to do a little story time about how the show must go on. And this is the most epic example of how the show must go on.”

Rimes said she was “on stage in the middle of ‘One Way Ticket'” during her June 22 concert and felt something “pop in my mouth.” She went on to reveal, “If you’ve been around, you know I’ve had a lot of dental surgeries, and I have a bridge in the front. It fell out in the middle of my song last night.”

She then explains how she “panicked” and ran to the side of the stage to put her teeth back in. She said she decided to be transparent and continued the show.

“I just had to get real with everybody and tell them exactly what was happening, or else I would have had to walk off stage,” she explained. For the rest of the show, she said she had to keep pushing her teeth back into place while she was singing.

Then, when she was singing “Can’t Fight the Moonlight,” they fell out again, but she kept on singing. Afterward, she said it “was the most epic experience ever.”

“I don’t usually have firsts in my career. That was a first and hopefully a last. I hope my teeth stay in tonight. We shall see,” she said. “The front row, get ready for something to fly out. If you catch them, please return them.”

Rimes also said that she is about “keeping it real” for her fans, which is why she shared her story. “And you know, like I said, there wasn’t a f—— thing I could do about it except either walk off or just hold my teeth in. So, I just ran with it,” she explained.

She also said she wanted to let other singers and performers out there know that these things happen, and it isn’t something they should be ashamed of.

Rimes ended her video with, “In case anybody has an issue onstage ever and feels embarrassed by it, just watch this video again and it will remind you that the show can go on in the midst of sheer, utter embarrassment.”
