(NewsNation) — Lawyers for Justin Baldoni have called harassment accusations by Isabela Ferrer “inappropriate” and unrelated to subpoena requests they’ve made to the “It Ends With Us” actress.

In a legal filing this week, Baldoni’s attorneys said the actress has not been responsive or reachable to requests for documents.

They added that Ferrer’s attorney has accepted subpoena requests from Blake Lively, who is suing Baldoni for sexual harassment, accusing him of creating a hostile work environment on the set.

Baldoni has requested Ferrer’s communications relating to his legal fight with Lively

Ferrer’s “opposition is primarily an inappropriate attack upon Mr. Baldoni and his counsel relating to matters not before the Court and irrelevant” to whether she should be served a subpoena, court filings state.

The actress had said in court filings that Baldoni “engaged in bad faith tactics” and that he filed the motion “for improper purposes and with the aim of harassing” her.

She has asked the court to deny Baldoni’s motion and impose sanctions on him.

But Baldon’s layers say they were asking for documents “that she either neglected to produce or were not requested by” a subpoena Lively made.

They added that it was not Baldoni’s company that first subpoenaed Ferrer but that Lively opened the door.

As a result, the lawyers say neither Lively nor Baldoni should be permitted to use “any communication to, from or concerning Ms. Ferrer, or any testimony from her, in any manner in this action.”

Ferrer had said she approached Baldoni’s company to help cover her legal costs, which she believed her contract required. She said Wayfarer would only pay if she were to “surrender control” of her response to Lively’s subpoena addressing claims made in Baldoni’s countersuit, according to The Independent.

Ferrer’s team said the production company had not only failed to honor its obligations to pay her fees but that Baldoni’s request didn’t allow her to “provide the documents that reveal the true facts,” People reported.

“From that point forward, Baldoni has tried to manipulate, threaten, control and otherwise act inappropriately towards Ms. Ferrer,” her lawyers said.

A trial is scheduled for March 2026.
