(NewsNation) — HGTV star has reassured fans she’s still “alive and well” after an AI-generated post claimed she suffered a “devastating” update on her health.

The “Love It or List It” host posted on Instagram Wednesday in front of a green screen image of the fake story, which read, “The physician caring for Hilary Farr’s cancer has provided a devastating update on her health. She might never be seen on TV in the future.”

“Ta daaa,” Farr, 73, said in her video, “I’m alive. Very, very, very much so alive and well, I’m happy to say…Look at this thing, really?!”

“It’s crazy AI stuff. I hope none of you would really take any of this seriously and realize it is just fake beyond words,” she continued. “I’m here to prove that. So, just checking in. All’s good with me.”

Farr was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014, a couple of years after doctors discovered a precancerous tumor, according to People magazine.

She’s been in remission since 2022, TV Insider reported.
