(NewsNation) — A police report detailing the drowning of Emilie Kiser‘s 3-year-old son has been made public despite Kiser’s monthslong battle to suppress it, revealing new details surrounding the case.
According to the report from the Chandler Police Department, at the time of the drowning, Emilie Kiser was out with friends, while her husband, Brady Kiser, was supposed to be watching 3-year-old Trigg and his infant brother Theodore.
Instead, the report alleges, the boy was left “in the backyard unsupervised for more than 9 minutes, and in the water for about 7 of those minutes.”
This is in contrast to what Brady Kiser, Emilie Kiser’s husband, had originally told police. According to USA Today, he told them that while caring for his infant son, he “lost sight of Trigg Kiser for three to five minutes before finding the boy floating in the family’s backyard pool.”
As per People magazine, local police allege that Brady Kiser was “watching an NBA playoff game and placed a $25 bet around the time of the drowning.”
The circumstances surrounding the drowning led the police to conclude that “Brady was not aware of what [Trigg] was doing and was not watching him. The combination of these factors led to drowning, and a remedy to any of the contributing circumstances could have prevented the outcome.”
On July 25th, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office stated Brady Kiser will not be convicted for his son’s death.
