‘Best Seller’ tops the Black List 2025 of Hollywood’s most-liked scripts

(NewsNation) — The Black List released its most-liked unproduced screenplays Tuesday in a star-studded video, and Matisse Haddad’s “Best Seller” topped this year’s list.

According to Deadline, 2025’s Black List features 74 scripts by 86 writers that were picked by nearly 500 executives in the film industry.

“Best Seller” takes place in the New York literary scene, where a struggling writer is being pressured by her famous novelist husband to have a baby.

Haddad’s script received the most likes this year with 48.

‘Equity’ by Ward Kamel

Coming in second place with 35 mentions was Ward Kamel’s script for “Equity.”

“After an ambitious pharma founder sells a portion of himself to a charismatic billionaire magnate, his world spirals into a high-stakes battle to buy back control of his company, his future, and his life,” according to the movie’s logline.

‘Rush’ by Read Masino and Cassidy Alla

In third place with 34 likes is Read Masino and Cassidy Alla’s “Rush.” It tells the story of a college student who is sexually assaulted by a frat boy. When he faces no consequences, she and her best friend join his fraternity undercover to get revenge.
