(NewsNation) — Prince Harry’s bid to regain armed security while visiting the U.K. is poised to become a reality, according to reports.
The U.K. government is likely to reverse its position not to grant Harry, 41, security when visiting Great Britain, now saying that he meets the criteria for taxpayer-funded, armed security, sources told People magazine.
The move would allow the Duke of Sussex to bring Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to the U.K.
Harry has maintained that without government property security, he wouldn’t be able to bring his children and his wife, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, back to the U.K. for safety reasons.
“It’s now a formality. Sources at the Home Office have indicated that security is nailed on for Harry,” insiders told the Daily Mail on Sunday.
Prince Harry reunites with King Charles
In September, Prince Harry and King Charles reunited in person after a year and a half apart.
Harry was pictured arriving at Charles’ London home, Clarence House.
Prior to the meeting last fall, Harry last saw his father in February 2024, following Charles’ cancer diagnosis, according to NewsNation’s Froelich, and didn’t spend a long amount of time with him.
King Charles was no longer taking Harry’s calls or responding to his letters, a source told People in 2024.
