(NewsNation) — Rapper Aubrey Drake Graham — better known as Drake — has made headlines in the last few months for his feud with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar. Despite the feud and controversy he faced, Drake reportedly made $60 million alone in 2024.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, the Canadian rapper’s net worth as of June 2025 is $250 million. A lot of that money comes from his music career, but he also has endorsements that bring in a large chunk of change.
Read below to find out how Drake made his money (and the properties he purchased with that money), as well as how his career got started.
Drake’s career: From TV to the big stage
Drake first started his career as an actor on “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” before he started making music in 2006. During his time at Degrassi, his mother reportedly became sick and couldn’t work. So, his checks from Degrassi were their only income, and at the time, he was allegedly making $50,000 a year.
He talked about that time later, saying, “My mother was very sick. We were very poor, like broke. The only money I had coming in was off of Canadian TV.” But then, his music career gained traction in 2009 with “So Far Gone,” which had his hit single, “Best I Ever Had.” This reportedly led to Drake making a deal with Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment.
His first studio album in 2010, “Thank Me Later,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and he followed it up with three additional albums. Now, the rapper is known for major hits like “Hotling Bling,” “God’s Plan” and “One Dance.”
Drake is also the founder of the OVO (October’s Very Own) brand, which has a clothing line, a record label and an annual music festival in Toronto, Canada. According to Celebrity Net Worth, the star has earned over $300 million during his career before taxes and any expenses.
In May 2022, Drage was re-signed to a “long-term worldwide partnership” with Universal Music Group. Some have speculated that Drake received $360 million upfront for this contract because one of his song lyrics says, “360 upfront.” However, other sources have claimed that the deal was at least $400 million.
Drake also has his own bourbon-based whiskey, Virginia Black, with the company reportedly selling 4,000 bottles in its first week. Later in its launch year, 2016, Virginia Black shipped another 30,000 units.
Drake’s endorsements
Drake has had several endorsement deals, including one with a crypto-based gambling platform called Stake.com in 2022. From that endorsement, the rapper allegedly makes $100 million per year. Drake is known to livestream during high-stakes betting sessions, at times wagering millions in Bitcoin during one stream.
Drake has also endorsed many other brands, including Burger King, Whataburger, Apple, Sprite and Nike. Drake also signed a $19 million deal with Apple Music when it launched, which allowed Apple to be the exclusive home, at first, for all of the rapper’s solo releases.
Drake’s ‘YOLO Estate,’ other properties
Despite being born in Canada, Drake has lived in Hidden Hills, California, since 2012. He reportedly purchased a mansion for $7.7 million in cash and nicknamed it the “YOLO Estate.” YOLO stands for “You only live once.”
The 12,000 square-foot home has a 25-person movie theater, a volleyball court, a basketball court and one of the largest private pools in the Southern California area. It also has equestrian stables. His pool, which is similar to a lagoon, has several waterfalls, an 80-foot water slide and a swim-up bar.
Drake extended the property several times by purchasing the neighboring estates. His property ended up being 6.7 acres. The rapper listed the estate for sale in March 2022 for $22.7 million, with buyers also having the option of only purchasing the main home for $14.8 million.
In April 2022, the NFL’s Matthew Stafford purchased two of Drake’s estates for $11 million. Then, the estate with the main home was purchased by a different buyer for $12 million in July 2022.
Drake now owns a 50,000-square-foot mansion in Toronto, as well as a condo. He also has a mansion in Beverly Hills (seen below) that he has tried to sell several times, eventually opting to rent out the property for $250,000 per month.
In October 2023, Drake ended up purchasing a 313-acre property in Texas that used to be home to The Inn at Dos Brisas, now called Dos Brisas Ranch. The property was converted into a resort in 2004, but suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic. The inn eventually closed in 2022 and was put on the market.
