Father of American-Israeli hostage pushes for ceasefire

(NewsNation) — Adi Alexander, father of American-Israeli hostage Edan Alexander, said his family has seen a Hamas propaganda video featuring his son — the last known living American hostage in Gaza.

Alexander said the video is “an additional sign of life” but that it’s difficult to see his son under these conditions.

“It was devastating. It was very tough to observe, very tough to see our son in this situation. It’s a really miserable situation,” Alexander told NewsNation’s “Morning in America” on Monday. “It’s a really tough one to see your child begging to be released.”

Alexander is again calling for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to secure a ceasefire and the release of hostages.

“I wonder when President Trump will lose patience with the situation. He gave a lot of credit to Prime Minister Netanyahu to restart this war,” Alexander said. “And to the prime minister, the question still remains: How do you plan to get the last hostage out without ending this war and without committing to the second phase of this deal?”

Alexander shared a message for his son, assuring him the family would not stop fighting for his return.

“Just stay strong. Keep surviving. We are hopeful, won’t give up, and I really hope to see you soon, even this weekend,” he said.

Edan Alexander, 21, was kidnapped by Hamas militants on Oct. 7, 2023. He has spent two birthdays in captivity.
