(NewsNation) — Brothers of Guy Gilboa Dalal and Evyatar David — best friends abducted by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023 — made a renewed push Thursday for their release.
The emotional comments from Gal Gilboa Dalal and Ilay David come on the heels of the Israeli government’s announcement that its forces had recovered the bodies of Judith Weinstein-Haggai and Gad Haggai, an Israeli-American couple whose remains had been held in Gaza.
Guy Gilboa Dalal and Evyatar David are believed to be alive. They were glimpsed on video last February, sitting in a vehicle, as Hamas released Tal Shoham and other hostages in what observers say was a cruel exhibition.
“They’re being tortured by their captors, emotionally and physically,” Ilay David told “Elizabeth Vargas Reports.” “We need to fight for their lives, and we have to save them as quickly as possible, because they are decaying right now.”
David and Gal Gilboa Dalal met this week with Steve Witkoff, President Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East.
“We are really trusting them to do the right thing and put the pressure on whoever they need to bring them back,” Gilboa Dalal said.
Shoham, the released hostage, was held captive with Guy Gilboa Dalal and Evyatar David in a 40-foot-long tunnel, where, he said, they shared a single pita a day as their only sustenance. He joined their brothers on “Vargas” to call for the duo’s release.
“It’s really indescribable what they’re going through right now,” Shoham said.
