(NewsNation) — Ousted Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s first court date has been set, NewsNation has learned, after the United States indicted him and his wife, Cilia Flores, on drug charges.
Maduro is expected to appear in the Southern District of New York court at noon ET on Monday, facing multiple narcoterrorism, drug and weapons charges.
Maduro was captured by U.S. forces Saturday at the direction of President Donald Trump. The U.S. military first conducted strikes on the capital city of Caracas, Venezuela and then took Maduro into custody, transporting him to New York City.
