(NewsNation) — Retired Army Lt. Gen Mark Schwartz says the United States is the only nation in the world capable of helping Israel carry out an attack on Iran’s nuclear sites.

“Only the United States possesses the munition and the aerial delivery capability and the ability to provide the tanker bridge to get those aircrafts safely from their bases without landing,” Schwartz said.

IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani previously told NewsNation Israel was capable of attacking the Fordow nuclear site.

Israel and Iran have carried out airstrikes against one another for a fifth day as President Donald Trump said that “we now have complete control of the skies over Iran” and also claimed to know where Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is.

Trump has said the conflict between the two countries needs to end completely and that Iran cannot be allowed to have a nuclear weapon in its possession.
