(NewsNation) — The journalist who reported Secretary of State Marco Rubio believes the U.S. has given recovered UFO and UAP technology to contractors says President Trump should speak publicly about the widely debated topic.
“He needs to speak directly to the American people and explain what’s going on here. There is conflicting messages,” Michael Shellenberger told “Elizabeth Vargas Reports” on Tuesday.
An adviser to Rubio told Shellenberger that his boss believes the government has handed over UFOs to private military contractors to work on. He added those contractors are becoming more knowledgeable about these crafts than the government.
Shellenberger said the unnamed adviser also thinks the U.S. is “headed toward massive disclosure.”
Rubio was one of the main figures featured in the release of the UFO documentary “The Age of Disclosure,” which addresses an “80-year cover-up of the existence of nonhuman intelligent life.”
Rubio, the most senior official who’s gone on record demanding answers as of late, has voiced his concern about UFO cover-ups by the U.S. government for several years. At that time, Rubio said potential whistleblowers about such government projects were afraid of retribution.
“The Department of War has the same line that they’ve had for years, which is very specific,” added Shellenberger. “And they say there’s no evidence of ‘extraterrestrials.’ I asked why they use that word, because it wasn’t a word I used. And they referred me to their report.”
Trump will be asked about UFO information in coming weeks: Journalist
Shellenberger believes Trump will soon face questioning about the potential disclosure of the UFO information. He compares it to how the president was bombarded with questions about the Jeffrey Epstein files.
“People are not going to let go of this,” Shellenberger acknowledged.
Shellenberger says Americans “really want answers, because I think at a certain point, the speculation is boring when we know that our leaders actually do know what’s going on.
“They have not yet shared that information with us,” he said.
