(NewsNation) — The Arizona Supreme Court was evacuated Monday after a suspicious package was found in the building, reports said.

Court officials said staff members discovered the package with no return label in the building’s mailroom.

“The package contained multiple vials, two that tested positive for a homemade explosive substance,” according to the Arizona Department of Safety.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Phoenix division wrote on X that it is on the scene to investigate the package.

Staff members, who were sent home, received a message that a total sweep of the building will be conducted, and the package will be removed.

Police added several buildings in the area near the court’s location have been evacuated. A bomb squad is also on the scene.

Arizona DPS noted once the scene is clear, the package will be tested again in a lab.

The timing of when the package was delivered to the court building remains unclear.
