(NewsNation) — For rich or for poor, a newly married couple is already facing a test to their vows after a man, who wasn’t a guest at their wedding reception in Glendale, Calif., allegedly stole $60,000 from a gift box.

The Glendale Police Department said the man, unknown to the victims, ran out of a banquet hall where the wedding reception was held and fled in a black SUV driven by another person, according to a press release.

After reviewing surveillance video, officers arrested Armean Shirehjini, the alleged thief, and Andranik Avetisyan, the alleged get-away driver, upon finding a large amount of cash, dozens of checks made out to the couple, several guns and narcotics.

 The investigation is ongoing.
