(NewsNation) — A paranormal investigator on his “Annabelle” doll tour died suddenly over the past weekend, reports said.

The New England Society for Psychic Research confirmed Dan Rivera, 54, died in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, in a Facebook post.

“It’s with deep sadness that Tony, Wade, and I share the sudden passing of our close friend and partner, Dan Rivera. We are heartbroken and still processing this loss. Dan truly believed in sharing his experiences and educating people on the paranormal. His kindness and passion touched everyone who knew him. Thank you for your support and kind thoughts during this difficult time,” the post read.

Rivera, who was a fixture in the paranormal world, was a member of the NESPR team that guided a ghost hunt that took people to the Jennie Wade House and the Haunted Orphanage in Gettysburg. He had built credibility and a vast following on social media off the eerie superstitions tied to Annabelle’s haunted past.

“Annabelle” the haunted doll, which is housed in Connecticut, was visiting Gettysburg with Rivera last weekend as part of the “Devils on the Run Tour.”

The cause of Rivera’s death remains unclear.
