(NewsNation) — Comedian Matt Rife is one of the funniest people on the planet. His recent purchases, though? The complete opposite.

Last week, Rife, along with his friend, YouTube creator Elton Castee, announced on TikTok that they bought the home and museum of Ed and Lorraine Warren, which included the infamous “Annabelle” doll, according to People.com.

“This might be the most important and prominent piece of paranormal history in the world. Ed and Lorraine Warren are who took demonology and ghost hunting, and paranormal investing, and made it mainstream,” Rife said.

“I know a lot of you guys don’t know [what] any of this means whatsoever, but if you follow ghost stuff, this is about as big as it gets.”

Rife’s announcement comes just weeks after Dan Rivera, a paranormal investigator on an “Annabelle” doll tour, died suddenly.

Rivera, who was a fixture in the paranormal world, was a member of the New England Society for Psychic Research team that guided a ghost hunt that took people to the Jennie Wade House and the Haunted Orphanage in Gettysburg. He had built credibility and a vast following on social media off the eerie superstitions tied to Annabelle’s haunted past.

“Annabelle,” the haunted doll, which is housed in Connecticut, was visiting Gettysburg with Rivera as part of the “Devils on the Run Tour” at the time of his death.

Authorities said that the doll was not present when Rivera passed away.
