(NewsNation) — A San Francisco Bay-area woman is supersizing her search for love, one highway billboard at a time.
Featuring a photo of 42-year-old Lisa Catalano and her website, MarryLisa.com, the signs have garnered thousands of applications from interested men.
After spending six months on dating apps with nothing meaningful to show for it, Catalano decided it was time she took a different approach.
“I decided, you know, I’m going to create my own personal dating website and see if I can drive traffic to it and get some dates out of it,” she said. “And so far, so good.”
From Sept. 24 to Oct. 15, Catalano said she received more than 3,800 applications — and she’s looked at all of them.
“It was a lot of work, but, you know, I figured I was asking the right questions on the application in order to determine if somebody is right for me, and I’m just going from there,” Catalano said.
“I really didn’t expect this to get as big, and it’s been interesting,” she added.
NewsNation local affiliate KRON will release a docuseries about Catalano and her dating journey on Nov. 26, with new episodes every Wednesday.
