(NewsNation) — The greatest competitive eater in history is back to reclaim the title belt.
Joey Chestnut will try to win his 17th Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest this Fourth of July after missing last year’s event due to a sponsorship conflict.
To take back the Mustard Belt, the 41-year-old eating legend will have to defeat Patrick Bertoletti, a Chicago native who won the 2024 contest by devouring 58 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes.
On the women’s side, Miki Sudo will look to defend her title and claim her 11th victory. The Tampa, Florida, resident has never lost the hot dog contest since she started competing in 2014.
Chestnut and Sudo are heavy betting favorites to win this year’s event, which draws thousands to Coney Island each Fourth of July.
