(NewsNation) — Florida police arrested a woman they say held a 6-year-old underwater and gave a nosebleed after children’s pool play turned unruly.

On Dec. 19, three children were playing in a luxury hotel pool in Kissimmee, Florida, when the splashing became aggressive. A woman, identified as Tiffany Lee Griffith, entered the hotel pool area yelling at one of the children, who she said dunked her son underwater, according to an Osceola County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Giffith, 36, then allegedly placed her hands on the 6-year-old’s shoulders and “forcibly dunked him underwater for several seconds,” the news release said.

The victim exited the pool suffering from a nosebleed and reported the incident to his parents. The suspect began yelling at the victim’s mother.

Griffith was charged with aggravated child abuse, a felony.
