PALM HARBOR, Fla. (WFLA) — A 21-year-old woman was charged last week after she was clocked going 107 mph in a 55-mph zone, an affidavit from the Florida sheriff’s office stated.

Yazmin Erazo, 21, of Holiday, was driving on US-19 last Thursday at around 11:52 p.m. when she was spotted by a Pinellas County officer on a routine patrol who estimated she was going over 100 mph, according to the document.

The officer pulled over the Kia Forte after his radar measured the speed of the car at 107 mph, the affidavit said. The speed limit on most of US-19 is 55 mph.

She was arrested without incident on allegations of dangerous, excessive speeding, the affidavit said. Erazo was charged with a misdemeanor and booked into the Pinellas County Jail. She has since been released on bond.

As to why she was driving so fast, Erazo admitted there was no emergency or other justification for the speed, according to the affidavit, telling the officer she was trying to make it to Little Caesars before it closed at 12 a.m.
