BATON ROUGE, La. (NewsNation/KLFY) — At least three current or former police chiefs have been arrested in part of a federal investigation in Louisiana.

Oakdale Police Chief Chad Doyle, Forest Hill Police Chief Glynn Dixon and Former Glenmora Police Chief Tebo Onishea were all named in an indictment Wednesday, alongside Oakdale Ward 5 Marshal Mike “Freck” Slaney and local businessman Chandrakant Patel.

All are in federal custody on unspecified charges. Oakdale, Ville Platte and Forest Hill are in south-central Louisiana. Reports say the chiefs were arrested during the Louisiana Association of Chiefs of Police conference in Baton Rouge.

KLFY also confirmed that Ville Platte Police Chief A. Perry Thomas has been arrested, though he was not named in Wednesday’s indictment.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office confirmed a law enforcement operation is underway in the region involving Homeland Security, the FBI and IRS investigators.

Lester Duhé, press secretary for Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, told KLFY that state authorities are also involved in the investigation.

“Agents with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation are assisting federal agents with court-authorized activities today,” Duhé said.
