Reports indicate that President Joe Biden is considering declaring a national climate emergency. The City of Miami and Miami Beach are expected to be profoundly impacted by rising sea levels due to climate change. A formal declaration of a national climate emergency would make it possible for the administration to use unilateral action by the executive branch to combat climate change. (NewsNation) — Two children were killed and four others were hurt after a barge struck a sailboat in Florida, according to CBS News.

U.S. Coast Guard Miami said they received a report from fire officials just before 11:35 a.m. about a collision between a sailboat and a barge near Hibiscus Island.

Six people, including five kids and one adult female counselor, made their way into the water after the impact, officials added. The boat sank after the crash.

Three of the victims were transported to the Miami-Dade Marina, while two were taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

Coast Guard officials said one person remained unresponsive at the scene.
