TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Casey Anthony, a Florida mother who was acquitted of murder charges in the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee, has joined TikTok to brand herself as a “legal advocate.”

“This is my first of probably many recordings on a series that I’m starting,” Anthony said in the video. “I am a legal advocate. I am a researcher.”

Anthony was arrested in 2008 after her mother called 911 to report her granddaughter missing and Anthony’s car allegedly smelling like a dead body. Caylee’s remains were discovered in a wooded area not far from Anthony’s home two months later, and her death was ruled a homicide.

In the high-profile 2011 murder trial, Casey Anthony was found not guilty of all charges except for lying to investigators.

“I’ve been in the legal field since 2011, and in this capacity, I feel that it’s necessary, if I’m going to continue to operate appropriately as a legal advocate, that I start to advocate for myself and also advocate for my daughter,” Anthony said in the video posted to TikTok.
