Walmart recalls 200K camp stoves over burn risk

(NewsNation) — Walmart is recalling more than 200,000 camp stoves that can explode or catch fire, causing a burn risk to users.

The recall references Ozark Trail Tabletop 1-Burner Butane Camping Stoves sold between March 2023 and October 2025, priced between $8 and $45. The stoves were sold by Walmart online and in stores.

The recall includes stoves with model number BG2247A1, which can be found on a gray label inside the fuel compartment.

The stoves are dark green and have an orange “Ozark Trail” logo on the front.

The stoves, made by China Windows Industry, can explode or catch fire, causing burn injuries.

The company has received 26 reports of the stoves exploding or catching fire, and 16 reports included injuries as severe as second-degree burns.

Customers who have purchased the stove should immediately stop using it. It can be returned to any Walmart for a full refund.
