(NewsNation) — More than 1 million countertop ovens are being recalled due to concerns that the appliance’s doors can unexpectedly close, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
Sunbeam Products recalled roughly 1,290,000 ovens — in addition to about 104,195 that were sold in Canada — on Sept. 25.
The recalled products were sold at Bed Bath and Beyond, Costco, Walmart and other stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com and Overstock.com from August 2015 through July 2025.
The recall involves Oster French Door Countertop Ovens with model numbers TSSTTVFDXL, TSSTTVFDDG, TSSTTVFDMAF and TSSTTVFDDAF, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The agency noted that the recalled ovens have a spring-loaded bilateral door made of glass with metal handles.
Consumers can find the model number on a label on the back of the oven. Tthe original packaging also features the model number.
The four models differ in cooking options and control types, with analog dials or digital push-button controls. “Oster” is engraved on the front bottom right of the oven.
Product owners are warned to stop using the recalled ovens and contact Sunbeam Products Inc. to get a free repair kit. Customers should reference recall number 25-475.
