NEW JERSEY (PIX11) — A New Jersey cop is accused of filming a female inmate in her holding cell while she was engaging in a sexual act and then using Snapchat to send out the videos, authorities announced Monday.

Officer Ryan Bonanni, 24, of Egg Harbor Township, N.J., was charged with official misconduct, computer theft, and invasion of privacy, according to court documents.

The charges stem from an incident that took place on July 6, 2025.

Officials say a female suspect was arrested by officers from the Ventnor City Police Department, where Bonnani is employed. While in police custody, the suspect was placed in a holding cell where she was in various stages of undressing. She also engaged in a sexual act, authorities said.

Bonnani allegedly used his badge to access surveillance footage and record videos of the suspect. He then used his personal cellular device and allegedly sent the videos to other people using the social media app Snapchat, authorities said.

Videos, captions and texts of the suspect were found on Bonanni’s cell, police said.
