Pennsylvania man awakes to burglar ‘only in underwear’

PARADISE, Pa. (WHTM) – A Lancaster County man was awoken by a burglar who State Police say was “dressed only in underwear.”

State Police say on November 23, around 7:33 a.m., a Paradise man awoke to find a man standing over his bed. The resident ordered the individual to leave, checked on their child, and retrieved a handgun before again telling the suspect to leave.

State Police say the suspect, Donald Roop of Paradise, allegedly entered the home through a garage door. Roop was arrested later that day, arraigned, and taken to the Lancaster County Prison.

According to court records, Roop was unable to post $100,000 bail and is facing charges including burglary, terroristic threats, and institutional vandalism.
