NEW YORK (PIX11) – A storm dumped almost 10 inches of snow in some parts of the tri-state area on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

States of emergency were declared in New York and New Jersey. Most of the snowstorm tapered off overnight into Saturday, but some light flakes are expected throughout the morning.

Snow will leave the area around Saturday afternoon, according to PIX11 meteorologists. Temperatures will stay below freezing through Sunday.
