QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) — A runaway horse was seen galloping near John F. Kennedy International Airport on Sunday, according to Port Authority police.
Police said the horse broke out of Curly’s Cowboy Center around 6:30 p.m. The animal traveled across the airport and was seen running south on the Van Wyck Expressway, according to authorities.

A video posted by WhatIsNewYork on X showed the horse running on the Belt Parkway before taking the exit ramp toward JFK.
Police officers were able to capture the animal at the entrance of Terminal 1.
“Unexpected calls demand steady leadership,” the PAPB’s union wrote in an Instagram post.
The horse, which was unharmed, was then brought back to Curly’s with the help of the NYPD. Traffic that had picked up due to the incident concluded around 8 p.m.
