LEBANON, Pa. (WHTM) — A fifth person has died after the duplex fire in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, on Sunday.
Tailing Nunez, 23, who was in critical condition on the day of the fire, has now passed away, according to Lebanon City Mayor Sherry Capello.
Nunez was one of the five residents killed in the fire, along with Amarri Morris-Rodriguez, 1, Veyda Pereyra, 4, Jaeden Nunez, 17, and Josefina Estevez, 73.
Mayor Sherry Capello says the fire occurred at 815 Church Street in the city as 10 people were celebrating a birthday inside. Three people were rescued from the residence, and two were later recovered, Capello reported.
“On behalf of the City, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased,” Capello said in a statement. “Words cannot capture the depth of our sorrow for their loss. Our thoughts and prayers remain with all those impacted by this devastating event.”
A community prayer vigil was held Monday night at the Love On the Streets Church in Lebanon for the victims and their families.
