CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn (PIX11) – Three people were killed and another 8 people were injured in a shooting at a club in Crown Heights, according to the NYPD.

The shooting happened at a “crowded club” called Taste of the City on Franklin Avenue, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said.

Three men, ages 27, 35 and one of unknown age, were killed in the shooting. Three women and five more men were shot and taken to area hospitals, all between ages 27 and 61, police said.

Police believe there were multiple shooters involved, but have not made any arrests, Tisch said. At least 36 shots were fired, Tisch said.

Locals told PIX11 News that shootings aren’t uncommon in the area, but the scale is unusually large.

“The area in general, there’s always been shootings, there’s always fights and stuff like that,” one local said. “But something like that, that’s crazy. That’s probably the worst of it.”
