Indiana police arrest Amazon driver, finish making his deliveries

INDIANAPOLIS — Neither snow nor rain nor arrest will prevent these couriers from the swift completion of their Amazon deliveries.

Only these couriers weren’t Amazon delivery drivers. They were Fishers police officers who took it upon themselves to follow through on the (slightly modified) postal service creed after arresting the Amazon driver who was supposed to be making these holiday season deliveries.

According to the Fishers Police Department, the delivery driver was out making his rounds when police attempted to pull him over as part of an unspecified traffic stop. The driver fled from police instead of pulling over, crashing and trying to flee on foot before being caught and arrested.

Officers uncovered dozens of undelivered packages still in the vehicle and took it upon themselves to make sure Fishers residents still received their packages.

“Our officers took the time to deliver nearly 50 packages themselves. This is just another example of their dedication to serving our community in every way they can,” Fishers PD posted on X, formerly Twitter.

Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness also praised the officers’ commitment to go the extra miles for their community.

“Our officers then took it upon themselves to deliver the rest of the packages to residents. That’s the kind of public servants we have!” he said.

So if you see an officer outside your front door, don’t fret. They just might have that Christmas present you’ve been waiting for.
