(NewsNation) — A road rage victim in Mississippi was protected by his steel-toed boot during a shooting last weekend, police say.

Police said the victim, who pulled into a Chick-fil-A, was shot in the foot. However, the round fired didn’t make it past the victim’s steel-toed boot, leaving them uninjured.

Kyle Maurice Ramos was arrested in connection with the shooting, according to police.

Ramos, 39, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The incident remains under investigation.
