(NewsNation) — Two migrants attempting to cross into Eagle Pass, Texas, were arrested after trying to cross the Rio Grande on Thursday.

According to the Eagle Pass Police Department, a citizen alerted patrol officers of two men acting suspiciously in south Eagle Pass.

Officers found the two men from Guatemala and Mexico in scuba gear underneath a bridge with “water propulsion apparatuses,” which could have helped them cross the Rio Grande.

According to authorities, neither man had the requisite documentation to be in the United States.

The two individuals, who remain unidentified, have been handed over to the United States Border Patrol for processing.
