(FOX40.COM) — After the man accused of firing shots at a local news station in Sacramento was released on bail on Saturday afternoon, he was arrested hours later by the FBI on federal charges, according to his attorney, Mark Reichel.

On Saturday night, Reichel told NewsNation affiliate KTXL that he was on the phone with his client, Anibal Hernandezsantana, when FBI agents arrested him outside his apartment on federal charges.

Reichel said he rushed over to stop the FBI from questioning Hernandezsantana.

On Friday afternoon, the Sacramento Police Department said Hernandezsantana had fired gunshots at ABC’s local news affiliate in Sacramento. When officers arrived at the scene, they found three gunshots in a window of the building.

Police said one person was in the lobby at the time shots were fired; however, no one was injured.

As of this reporting, the specifics of the federal charges were unknown.
